Overview:
This workshop will address issues of special relevance to adolescent survivors of abuse and other forms of victimization, and introduce Integrated Therapy for Complex Trauma (ITCT-A). ITCT-A is an approach that helps the clinician to intervene in the relational/interpersonal issues of many traumatized adolescents, as well as support emotional and cognitive processing of trauma memories, assist in the development of affect regulation and tolerance skills, and offer a flexible, nonjudgmental, but focused approach to issues such as substance abuse, tension reduction behaviors (e.g., self-mutilation), dysfunctional sexual behavior and aggression.
Opinions expressed are those of the speaker and not necessarily those of the Council and its membership.
