"Gender Fairytales and Domestic Violence"

Alyce LaViolette, M.S., M.F.C.C.
Founder of AlternativesToViolence.us
Alyce LaViolette has worked with battered women since 1978, first as an advocate at WomenShelter in Long Beach and then in private practice. In 1979, she funded Alternatives to Violence, one of the first programs in the country for spouse abusers. She also specializes in domestic violence, anger management, conflict resolution, and gender issues in her broad-based private practice and works with individuals, couples and groups.

This workshop will focus on the impact of power and gender in domestically abusive relationships. The Snow White-Wicked Witch Conversion theory developed by Alyce LaViolette will be described and discussed. In addition, the workshop will focus on expectations based on gender.
