Victoria Sciarra is well trained in observing the subtleties of the mind/body disconnection. Using techniques from
leading edge energy psychology systems and body psychotherapy she is skillful at teaching clients to use the body’s
energy buttons and switches to release trauma from the body and establish a mind/body connection. She is passionate
about energy interventions because they are effective, non-invasive and produce long lasting results. These “new” energy
protocols are based on healing traditions from India and China that are thousands of years old.
Her private practice is in Long Beach where she works with individuals and couples. Throughout the year she teaches a
stress management workshop with a colleague using energy based interventions. Her field of study includes energy
psychology systems such as Seemorg Matrix Work, Healing From The Body Level Up (HBLU), Emotional Freedom Technique
(EFT), Pranic Healing, Integrative Body Psychotherapy (IBP), and traditional psychotherapy.
Keynote
In this experiential hour designed for the Council, Victoria takes you beyond “talking” about the mind/body connection
and invites you to feel it. Quick and effective energy psychology interventions will be clearly demonstrated that you
can add to your daily self-care mind/body connection routine. These techniques can be safely and easily integrated into
your traditional therapy practices. You can just relax and have fun while you are learning this morning because Victoria
is providing you with handouts that describe everything she is demonstrating.
Opinions expressed are those of the speaker and not necessarily those of the Council and its membership.

THE 5 MINUTE DAILY ENERGY ROUTINE
These simple yet effective energy interventions are intended to be used daily. They can be used as a group in the
morning to wake up your body or used individually depending on what you need. While each intervention has a
specific goal, the overall result is a reduction in stress and reconnecting mind/body. Enjoy!
- THE THREE THUMPS (energy boost, focus, strengthen immune system)
- K-27 Points: Place your middle finger and thumb just under your collarbones, where they almost meet. Cross
your hands over one another with the middle finger of each hand now resting on the opposite K-27 point. Tap or
massage while breathing in deeply through your nose and out through your mouth. Next, hold one hand over your
navel and the other hand on the K-27 point and breathe. Repeat with other hand on navel. (12 times each.)
- Thymus Thump: Move your fingers down a couple inches into the center of your sternum after the K-27 Thump.
As you breathe deeply, firmly tap your thymus point with the four fingers of each hand about 12 times.
- Spleen Points: Move your fingers below your breasts, underneath your nipples and down one rib below the bottom of
your breast, about an inch. Tap firmly with several fingers 12 times, breathing in deeply through your nose and
out through your mouth.
- THE CROSS CRAWL (balance, clear thought, harmonize energy)
- As you lift your left leg, place your right hand on your left knee. Then, place your left hand on your right knee as you lift it. Do this 12 times.
- THE WAYNE COOK POSTURE (calms emotions, focus, clear thought)
- There are many variations on this one. Cross your left ankle over your right. Extend your arms out in front
of you, palms down and cross your right arm over your left then clasp palms together. Rotate your wrists outward
so your fingertips turn inward toward your body and point them up, pinkies touching your chest at heart level.
Inhale through nose; exhale through mouth, 3 times. Place feet apart; bring palms together at heart center,
fingertips pointing to the ceiling. Again breathe in through nose and out through mouth 3 times. Repeat on the other side, crossing right ankle over left, etc.
- THE CROWN PULL (relieves mental congestion)
- Place your thumbs at your temples on the side of your head curling your fingers and resting them next to each other in
the center of your forehead above your eyebrows. Slowly with some pressure, pull your fingers apart and stretch
the skin above your eyebrows. Repeat. Move your fingers up to the hairline and repeat, to the top of the
head with pinkies at the hairline, to the center of your head and to the back of the head. Repeat each of these
stretches one or more times.
- THE SPINAL FLUSH (clears emotions from body, energy boost)
- You can do this with a partner or. In either case, apply strong pressure with your thumbs massaging the points on
both sides of your spine, starting at the base of the neck and moving down to the sacrum. Repeat the flush if
desired and complete by sweeping the energies down your body with an open hand from shoulders all the way down your legs
and off your feet two or three times. Great to do for others when they are upset.
- THE ZIP UP/HOOK UP (protects from others negative energy)
- Briskly tap K-27 to assure your meridians are moving in a forward direction. Place your hand in front of your
pubic bone. (The bottom end of the central meridian). Take a deep breath as you simultaneously move your hand with
intention and deliberation straight up the center of your body to your lower lip. Repeat three times. You
may want to add some words of intention as you zip up such as “I am safe” “I am loved” “I trust myself.”
- Place the middle finger of one hand in the navel; place the middle finger of the other hand between the eyes (finger
pointing down). Inhale through the nose and pull up with both fingers. Your body will spontaneously exhale
within a few seconds.

3 STEPS TO MIND/BODY CONNECTION
For practical purposes in the office when I am
helping a client to assess if they are in their body, I find it beneficial to have the client do a self-scan. I
then ask 3 questions: (1) Is your vision clear? (2) Do you feel your head attached to your body? (3) Do you feel
your feet on the floor? If any one of the answers were no then I would ask the client to use the following three steps
to connect the mind and body.
Sometimes getting a client to be willing to help himself or herself is the biggest challenge. I have found Step 1
extremely effective in shifting the brain into willingness to help.
- MOVING THROUGH RESISTANCE TO HELPING SELF
- While tapping on the side of the hand (karate chop place), say 3 times:
- “Even though I ______________, I deeply and completely love and
accept myself, honor and respect myself, and I forgive myself for_____________ [and I forgive everyone else for
their part in contributing to_____________.]”
- Examples: I don’t want to help myself, I don’t think this will
work; I don’t want to do this
- GROUNDING SELF (body feels rooted and grounded)
- From the basic chakra (at tailbone) send golden cords the size of
gnarly tree trunks down the legs, out the soles of the feet 20 feet into the earth and 20 feet wide. When ready to
send these golden cords say the word NOW aloud and notice what happens in your body. What is different? (Typical
responses; more solid, feel grounded, feel floor)
- MEDULLA-UNHOLD (brain is balanced, head re-attaches to body)
- Place two fingers on the notch between the nose and the top lip.
Put the palm of your other hand at the base of the skull and put your tongue on the roof of your mouth. Inhale
through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Hold these points for 2 minutes.
This integrates the left and right side of brain as well as connecting the governing meridian and central meridian.
