Program: Grief and Mourning

Speaker: Susan K. Beeney, RN

In this presentation, Susan K. Beeney, RN will be speaking on the principles of grief and mourning for the child.  Susan will guide the audience through Dr. J. William Worden’s 4 Tasks of Mourning as it applies to children ages 5-13.  A question and answer time will follow this presentation. 

Susan K. Beeney, RN is the Founder and Executive Director of New Hope Grief Support Community.  It was out of a dedication to serve in the capacity of a hospice nurse that Susan began her passion of helping those left behind after the death of their special person.

Susan has provided grief support programs for all ages, school programs for children and teens and camps for kids in Long Beach and surrounding communities for the past twenty years.  She is the author of Journey of Grief-A Handbook for Grieving People, A Kid’s Journey of Grief-A Activity-Handbook for Grieving Children (available in 4 editions), and other books soon to be available. We are thrilled and grateful that Susan is willing and able to share her wealth of knowledge about grief and loss to our Council !!
