John Briere, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California; Director of the Psychological Trauma Program at LAC-USC Medical Center; and Co-Director of the MCAVIC-USC Child and Adolescent Trauma Program, National Child Traumatic Stress Network, SAMHSA. Dr. Briere is also a past President of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, and author of a number of books, articles, chapters, and psychological tests in the areas of psychological trauma and interpersonal violence. Cheryl Lanktree, Ph.D. is Executive Director of the Miller Children’s Hospital Abuse and Violence Intervention Center (MCAVIC), a multidisciplinary outpatient center of Miller Children’s Hospital, Long Beach, California providing evaluation and treatment services for children, adolescents, and their families traumatized by child abuse and neglect, family and community violence, severe medical illness, and family loss. She is also Project Director of the SAMHSA-funded MCAVIC-USC Child and Adolescent Trauma Program, a Treatment and Service Adaptation Center of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, and Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Southern California.
