Program: "Evidence Based Practices"

Speaker: Tiffani Morton, LMFT

Tiffani MortonTiffani Morton – Tiffani Morton is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.  Tiffani is currently the Program Director of Child and Adolescent Mental Health at For the Child in Long Beach, an agency that specializes in the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect.  In her work at For the Child, Tiffani has provided treatment to children who have suffered from abuse, neglect and traumatic loss using Evidence Based Practices.  She also provides supervision and training to therapists who utilize Evidence Based Practices in treating children who have experienced trauma.

Overview:
The current trend in the Mental Health Field in Los Angeles County is the use of Evidence Based Practices.  These are practices that have been shown to be effective with specific populations.

This presentation will include the following:
  1. A brief description of Evidence Based Practices
  2. An overview of three Evidence Based Practices used with children who have experienced abuse (PCIT, Trauma Focused CBT and Child Parent Psychotherapy)
  3. Case examples of Evidence Based Practices
